The Society for Vascular Ultrasound (SVU, or ‘the Society’) is seeking nominees and applicants for 2 At-Large Director positions to serve a one-year term for the calendar year 2019. The Society Board is seeking applicants who have demonstrated experience with:
- Grant Writing
- Research Project Management
At-Large Directors - 2 positions.
The two Society Board openings are for At-Large, one-year positions for 2019. While there are no specific eligibility requirements, the Board is seeking diverse, accomplished candidates with demonstrated skills and experience in Grant Writing and Research Project Management to supplement Board, Committee and staff efforts to move the organization forward; and a willingness to actively apply these skills in the role of At-Large Director. Nominees do not necessarily need to be actively working in vascular ultrasound to serve as At-Large Directors.
The Governance Committee will review all qualified applications and may consider other candidates as well, and may opt to conduct interviews. Two finalists will be presented to the Board of Directors for election at its August meeting.
SVU At-Large Director Obligations:
All applicants must be able to travel to two in-person meetings, one in winter and one in summer (the day prior to the SVU Annual Conference), as well as participate in two or more conference calls during the year. Directors serve as Liaisons to and members of various SVU Committees, Board task forces, and allied organizations; set the strategic vision and plan for the organization; provide guidance and feedback to the Executive Director and staff; prepare for meetings by reviewing documents and providing feedback; and aid in the governance of the organization. Directors are expected to actively participate and contribute to the organization year-round.

Applicants for the Society At- Large Director or FOUNDATION Director positions must complete the Board Application (please download before filling out) and submit along with a professional Letter of Reference and an optional Resume (or CV) and by 11 PM ET, Monday May 14, 2018.
Applicants submitting resumes should still indicate their relevant skills and experience directly on the application.
Because SVU (the Society) and the SVU FOUNDATION are separate organizations, applicants who wish to apply for consideration to both Boards of Directors must submit two separate applications.
