Staying Busy in Las Vegas!

The SVU Annual Conference is just two weeks away and I am looking forward to my stay at Paris Las Vegas. Between Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas there are dozens of stores, upscale and casual restaurants, shows, spas, and two pools. I am going to be very busy all week!

There is no need to worry about the triple-digit temperatures on the Vegas Strip because Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas are connected. If you do decide to leave the hotels, avoid the heat by taking the monorail at Bally’s which leaves every 4-9 minutes and makes 7 stops at different resorts along the 3.6 mile strip. Click here to see the monorail map and to purchase tickets.

When you get back to the hotel you can cool off by the pool. Soleil is the rooftop pool with a French flare overlooking the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas. Blu Pool at Bally’s reaches an impressive 12 foot depth with a nearby game room and a DJ. Keep in mind that you can guarantee your spot by the pool by reserving lounge chairs or even an air conditioned cabana with a TV and ice cold water. To make lounge chair reservations at Soleil click here, and for reservations at Blu Pool click here.

If you get hungry while you are at either of the pools you will not have to go far. Café du Parc is located at the Soleil pool, or if you are at Blu Pool you can order from the Blu Pool Café. If you would prefer to eat after you are finished swimming you can go to one of several casual restaurants in either hotel. I am looking forward to dinner at HEXX. Here you can dine on the patio and watch the Fountains of Bellagio. They offer American cuisine 24 hours a day, and they are known for being the first “bean-to-bar” chocolatier in Nevada. Another excellent looking casual dining option is Tequila Taqueria at Bally’s. Their menu features a variety of authentic Mexican selections and table side guacamole service.

After a long day of learning at the conference, cooling down by the pool, and dining at your favorite restaurant you can enjoy some of the entertainment Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas have to offer. I am particularly excited to check out the dueling pianos at Napoleon’s. They play audience selections from 6 PM to 2 AM. If you would prefer to go to a show, you may enjoy having your mind read by Frederic Da Silva at The Mind Reading Magic Show at Bally’s. Finally, if nightlife and shows are not your thing, a relaxing day at one of the spas in Bally’s or Paris Las Vegas may be for you. They offer an array of facials, body wraps, massages, scrubs, and salon services.

The Society for Vascular Ultrasound couldn't have picked a better location for this year’s conference. There is so much to see and do at Paris Las Vegas and Bally’s. I can’t wait to see you all at there!
