Welcome to the SVU 2016 Annual Conference! My name is Amina Ahmed and I’m here to give you a couple of tips for this upcoming event, but before that I’m going to give you a couple of tidbits about me as your guide… I’m a Vascular Sonographer in the Chicagoland area. I am an alumni of Rush University as well as Edward Cardiovascular Institute for Cardiac Sonography. I feel that the SVU conference is a great opportunity for educational and professional advancement. In the past it has helped me with networking when I was new to the field. Now I feel that it has enhanced my education as well as kept me up to date on the latest research. I hope your experience will be as great as mine.

Soo much to see, learn and explore! The SVU conference is power packed with so much information and it’s an experience that you surely don’t want to miss. Here are several tips to get you ready for this year’s upcoming event in Chicago:

1. Get plenty of rest so you can power through your day because it is jammed packed with activities.
2. BEST TIP!!!! Download the 2016 Annual Conference Mobile Application so you have access to the day’s events at your fingertips, go to your mobile app store and search for EVENTSENTIAL. Once you are on the Eventsential app search for SVU and locate the 2016 Annual Conference event.
3. Review the CME schedule to find the subjects that peak your curiosity.
4. Familiarize yourself with the conference location and parking so you have ample time to get to your marked events.
5. Check to make sure you have your registration confirmation for the conference.
6. Arrive early to avoid the rush for registration and bag pick up.
7. Take advantage of Technology Theatre! This is where vendors show you the best features of their products and how to use them for some of our more challenging work.
8. Don’t forget to make time for the Marketplace. It’s great for networking and catching up with old friends. Enjoy the common area for lunch and breaks.
9. Last but not least, don’t forget your sweater if you get cold easily.
